About the Authors

Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) received her doctorate in neuroscience from UC Irvine, and before she started living the dream as a full-time writer, spent her days researching neurodegeneration in aging. She lives in California with three cuddly dogs, two less-cuddly teenagers, and one mountain biking, homebrewing scientist husband.

Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. These days you can find her at her desk, writing, or watching BTS videos. She lives in Utah with her husband and daughter, thinks she’s the luckiest person in the world to write books with her best friend, and is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter.

Beloved author and former Book Crawl Ambassador Susan Lee is the critically acclaimed writer of multiple bestselling romance novels, including Seoulmates and The Name Drop. A graduate of UC San Diego, Susan first built a successful career as an HR executive — until she realized that writing stories was a more impactful and powerful form of resistance and change. Now she channels her energy into writing Happily Ever After for those historically underrepresented in Romance. When not writing, Susan can be found listening to Kpop, binge watching K‑dramas, collecting sneakers, building mechanical keyboards, and obsessing over her two adorable, but ill-behaved chihuahuas.

About Love and Other Words

Macy Sorensen is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine: work hard as a new pediatrics resident, plan her wedding to an older, financially secure man, keep her head down and heart tucked away.

But when she runs into Elliot Petropoulos— the first and only love of her life— the careful bubble she’s constructed begins to dissolve. Once upon a time, Elliot was Macy’s entire world— growing from her gangly bookish friend into the man who coaxed her heart open again after the loss of her mother…only to break it on the very night he declared his love for her.

Told in alternating timelines between Then and Now, teenage Elliot and Macy grow from friends to much more— spending weekends and lazy summers together in a house outside of San Francisco devouring books, sharing favorite words, and talking through their growing pains and triumphs. As adults, they have become strangers to one another until their chance reunion. Although their memories are obscured by the agony of what happened that night so many years ago, Elliot comes to understand the truth behind Macy’s decade-long silence, and must overcome the past and himself to revive her faith in the possibility of an all-consuming love.
