The San Diego Book Crawl is back for its eighth year!
Dave Eggers, the 2025 San Diego Book Crawl author ambassador, will sign at Library Shop SD from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26th.
Visit the Library Shop SD and other participating San Diego independent bookstores from April 26th to April 28th and purchase at least $10 to receive your Book Crawl Passport and your first passport stamp. Every $10 or more purchase at each independent bookstore (no particular order necessary) will earn you another passport stamp. The more stamps you earn, the more prizes you’ll get!

Saturday:
9:00 a.m. — 3:30 p.m.- Free 2‑hour Library Parking with Validation.
3:30 p.m. — 6:00 p.m.- Padres game day parking rates go into effect, but a limited number of Book Crawler Express Parking spots will be available. Please let the parking attendant know that you are here for the Book Crawl.
Sunday:
9:00 am — 10:30 a.m.- Free Library Parking with Validation for Book Crawlers. Please let the parking attendant know that you are here for the Book Crawl.
10:30 a.m. — 4:00 p.m.- Padres game day parking rates go into effect, but a limited number of Book Crawler Express Parking spots will be available. Please let the parking attendant know that you are here for the Book Crawl.
After approximately 4:00 p.m., we expect the garage to reopen for Library parking.
Please note that the Library Shop (9:00 a.m.) will open before the Library (1:00 p.m.) on Sunday. If you are arriving on foot, please enter on the 11th Ave. side of the building as the Park Blvd. entrance will be closed.
Monday:

About the 2025 Author Ambassador: Dave Eggers
Dave Eggers is the author of many books, among them Newbery Medal winner The Eyes and the Impossible, The Circle, The Monk of Mokha, Heroes of the Frontier, A Hologram for the King, and What Is the What. He is the founder of McSweeney’s, a nonprofit, independent publishing company based in San Francisco that produces books, a humor website, McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, and The Believer and Illustoria magazines. He is also the co-founder of 826 Valencia, a youth writing center that has inspired over 70 similar organizations worldwide. He recently opened The International Library of Youth Writing in San Francisco, which celebrates the work of these youth writing centers. Eggers is winner of the American Book Award, the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for Education, the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, the TED Prize, and has been a finalist for the National Book Award, the Pulitzer Prize, and the National Book Critics Circle Award.
