SAN DIEGO — San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria released his proposed City budget for Fiscal Year 2027 in April. The budget seeks to slash $6.3 million from the San Diego Public Library Department. The Library Foundation SD, a group that supports, advocates for and raises funds to enhance the San Diego Public Library system said that the cuts to the department will result in fewer operating hours, programs and services at all 37 library locations.
