SAN DIEGO – Library Foundation SD turned to a new page with the opening of its second bookstore in the former Mission Hills library location on Dec. 1.
Located at West Washington St and Hawk St, the bookstore will feature books of all genres — including many by local authors — and gifts for books lovers.
The new space represents a $286,000 investment by Library Foundation SD. The nonprofit’s first bookstore located opened in 2013 within the San Diego Central Library. Like the organization’s first location, proceeds from its Mission Hills bookstore will go towards the mission of supporting San Diego’s libraries.
Including proceeds from the Foundation’s Central Library shop, Library Foundation SD has contributed over $25 million in support to the San Diego Public Library since 2013. “We do see as a significant growth potential,” Library Foundation SD CEO Patrick Stewart said.
