What does a library mean to you? Is it books? Computers? Or how about a place where you can check out a GPS for a hike or an ice cream maker for your next party?
The San Diego Public Library wants to hear what you want for the future of your local library. What do you love? What would you change? What would you add?
We all have ideas of what we want from our library. That’s why the Library and Library Foundation SD want to hear from YOU as we develop the Library Master Plan. You can get involved at a special community listening session where you can share #YourLibraryYourVision with the San Diego Public Library. Each outreach event will include a one-hour open house where library patrons can drop in and share their input. A moderator-led presentation and listening session will follow the open house.
Listening sessions will be held in every San Diego neighborhood.

The plan’s first phase framework outlines an aspirational vision for the San Diego Public Library. High-performing libraries and library services should be equitable, engaging, and experiential, geographically accessible everywhere, and empowered with the necessary resources to thrive. In this next phase, the library needs broad community input on specifics of what you love about your local library, what you would change, and what you would add.
