The Robert Frost Society, affiliated with the American Literature Association and housed in the San Diego Public Library, is a literary organization dedicated to sustaining the legacy of Robert Frost. The Robert Frost Society seeks to promote increased understanding and appreciation of the life, times, setting, and poetry of Robert Frost through a variety of educational and scholarly programs. When you make a financial contribution to the Robert Frost Society, you become a partner in our many efforts to preserve that legacy.
Giving to the Robert Frost Society
Your generous, tax-deductible donation enables us to:
- Operate the Robert Frost Society in conjunction with the Library Foundation SD
- Annually Publish the Robert Frost Review
- Organize Conferences Devoted to Frost Scholarship and Creative Writing
- Support Scholarships and Honoraria for Students, Teachers, and Visiting Scholars
- Preserve and Display an Archive of Correspondence, Rare Books, and Photographs Related to Robert Frost and His Associates.
- Host or Support Cultural Events, Readings, and Lectures in a Variety of National Venues
- Support the Foundational Missions of the Frost Farm in Derry, New Hampshire, and the Stone House in Bennington, Vermont
- Award the Lesley Lee Francis Prize for the Best Frost Scholarship Published Each Year
- Award the Robert Frost Medal of Lifetime Achievement to Scholars who have Contributed Significantly to our Understanding of Robert Frost

Legacy Society and Planned Giving
A planned gift to the Robert Frost Society will inspire others and provide the Society with the financial security to fulfill its mission well into the future. Any planned or structured gift with a designation of the Robert Frost Society as beneficiary entitles the benefactor, as a member of the Robert Frost Legacy Society, to a lifetime of free access to all Robert Frost Society events.
There are a variety of ways you can fulfill your philanthropic desires for the Society. You may also be able to increase the power of your gift if your employer has a matching program. Bequest
If you would like to leave a portion of your estate to the Robert Frost Society, your attorney can provide you with the proper procedures or codicils for remembering the Robert Frost Society in your Last Will and Testament.
- To Leave the Society a Specific Amount of Money, please include the following language in your Will: I, _________, hereby give (insert sum) to the Library Foundation SD, the designated source for the Robert Frost Society, 330 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101, to provide funding for (specify program, endowment, OR the programs in current need as determined by the Board of Governors of the Robert Frost Society).
- To Leave the Society a Percentage of Your Estate, please include the following language in your Will: I, _________, hereby give (insert percentage of my estate) to the Robert Frost Society, c/o the Library Foundation SD, 330 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101, to provide funding for (specify program, endowment, OR the programs in current need as determined by the Board of Governors of the Robert Frost Society).
Charitable IRA Rollover
The law designates the term “qualified charitable distribution” to describe an IRA charitable rollover. Individuals at least 70 ½ years old may be able to avoid income taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to the Robert Frost Society. Plus, these charitable transfers can count toward satisfying your required minimum distribution.
